Thank you so much for the wonderful blanket my son had while he was in the PICU, it meant so much to us that someone was caring enough to make that for a child they would never meet. My son was life flighted to AKCH for cluster seizures at two weeks old. It was the scariest time in my life, I will never forget the feeling of helplessness and despair watching him lay in his crib and seizure. We were so blessed that he is now doing GREAT, the seizures were caused by a blood clot in his brain that has gone away on its own. The blanket he had was a small reminder that my husband and I were not alone, that someone else was also routing for our son. Thank you so much.
Thank you again, for everything.
Dear Chelsea, family and friends…
As the parent of a 12 year old – “tough guy” – who has had a rough hospital stay of 6 days and counting… I would like to say Thank you for what you do!
It might be easy to think that the blankets and pillow cases are for infants and toddlers…
But we have had a difficult week and today before a CAT scan the Child Life Specialist brought a soft warm blanket and a little dog pillowcase – it made what has otherwise been a difficult and stressful day a little easier. It was a nice comfortable distraction that brought warmth in more than one way. As mom – anything that reduces the stress, eases the pain and makes him feel better – makes me feel better. So again – Thank you.
I just want to thank you and let you know that your blanket was given to my son at Akron Children's Hospital today. He is very ill and is in surgery now. I'm sure he will love it when he's feeling better.
Thanks again for your kindness,
I was in the ICU unit of Children's Hospital and my daughter received one of your blankets. I would like to thank you for making it, it's a beautiful blanket.
This is a very belated thank you, but my son received a fleece
blanket you made when he was in the PICU at Akron children's in march2011. He was 6 months old. He is now a very active healthy 2 year old who LOVES the doggie blanket and carries it around with him all of the time. Right now he is cuddled up on the couch beside me with his blankie. Thank you so much for making these blankets, it is so kind of you to do and we are very grateful for thinking of kids when they are sick and in need of comfort.
This is my 1 yr old son, who had to make a trip to the PICU ON his first birthday. He's home now (thank God) and rather than tell him that the blanket is a souvenir from his hospital stay, I prefer to think of it as a birthday gift from a very special stranger:) thank you, so very much, for your kindness!
Today I'm five weeks post-op from a spinal fusion surgery at Akron Children’s Hospital. I personally wasn't too nervous to have the surgery, by my family was extremely worked up and didn't want to explain to me how serious this was. I just wanted to sincerely thank this organization for providing a blanket for me in the intensive care and my weeks stay in the hospital. I just wanted to let you know that I really, really appreciated it. A lot of people that I didn't know helped me in the hospital and I really feel like I should thank all of them. So here is my thanks!! I absolutely love this blanket!! This is truly an amazing organization! I looked at your guy's website and saw that you did fundraisers, so I'm planning to come to the next one!! Thanks guys!!
On behalf of one of our patients, I would like to sincerely thank you for your continued supply of pillowcases. This particular patient was having a very difficult time being here. She was given permission to wear her own pajamas and received a pillowcase to use, and then take home. Her mother expressed appreciation and said that the pillowcase is what turned her attitude around. She learned that there are people who really want to make her feel better, medically and non-medically. We truly believe that the medicine can heal, but it heals much faster when we can provide for the patient's emotional needs while being hospitalized.
Please accept our sincere appreciation and a copy of the patient's artwork thank you to the pillow case lady.

Hi! My name is Julia, I just want to thank you on behalf of my now nine week old son. We were sent to Akron Children's PICU and received one of the baby blankets that you made during his stay. It's so very cute, yellow and blue with little trucks all over it. Thank you very much!
Thank you for donating blankets to the Akron Children's hospital. My daughter, who is 7, was admitted on Thursday through Friday. The nurses gave her a hot pink and black blanket with cats on it. My daughter has taken the blanket and it goes with us everywhere we go. She sleeps with it every night. Your generosity help make a little girl's hospital stay more pleasant! I'm grateful that she was able to take away something positive from her visit. Thank you! Your thoughtfulness is appreciated!
Hi, my name is Karen. I am a wife and a mother of four. Recently my youngest son, who is 2.5 and has Down Syndrome was admitted to Akron Children's Hospital. He was admitted with unexplained seizures and we later learned that he suffered four strokes. One stroke was massive encompassing about 2/3 of the right side of his brain. Obviously when he was taken to Akron by ambulance we didn't have much time to gather his belongings up. It was very nice to be provided a blanket that you made. It is very cute. It is oranged and green fleece with a dinosaur print on it. He really likes it and enjoyed curiling up with it in the hospital. Comforts like that blanket made our time there with him much easier and comfortable. Thank you so much for taking your time to do something so sweet for someone else. This whole process has in some ways reminded us of the generosity of others. he is now home and recovering. He still goes to Akron everyday for intensive outpatient therapy and he is making progress. Thank you again so much!
